Additional Effects of Medial Wedge Insole Coupled with Conventional Therapy in Patients with Bilateral Lateral Compartmental Knee Osteoarthritis: A Clinical Trial Study

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent disorder of locomotor system, and involves largeweight bearing joints lower limb such as knee joint. The progression OA typically affected bymechanical stress created by varus valgus malalignment, which in turn overloads medial lateralcompartments, respectively. rationale wedged insoles to transfer load from kneecompartment joint contralateral compartment. So, aim study was compare effectiveness ofconventional therapy plus wedge insole footwear conventional alone on pain, physicalfunction alignment lateral compartmental osteoarthritic patients.Method: Study included 30 patients with bilateral OA, aged 40-60 years anddivided into 2 groups: Group A received B receivedconventional for 6 weeks (3 sets 10 repetitions daily). Inter-group analysis unpaired t-testshowed statistically significant improvement Lequesne index score tibiofemoral angle (P value ≤ 0.05).Conclusion: In weremore effective than reducing improving functional disability tibiofemoralangle.
